road trip joys
I was just thinking about the lovely road trips that I took with my family in Australia. First one was in 1999, during Dec, when we drove from Canberra all the way up to Brisbane. On Christmas day, we were in a very nice hotel in the Hunter Valley and for New year's eve we were in Armidale, a small town where the University of New England is located. My sis and I stayed up watching the fireworks and wondering what would happen the regarding Y2K. New Year's day in Sydney was weird because there was litter everywhere from the previous night. I didn't drive at the time, so I could sleep on thecar --haha. What comfort. Last year my parents and I drove down to Melbourne which was fun as well. we passed by a town that is famous for being Ned Kelly's 'Last stand.' it was such a small place--only a few stores open.
